FAIRE is absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Artrepreneur, an online platform for artists, designers, collectors, and anyone who has a love for art and design.

Recently awarded their B-Corp certificate, Artrepreneur is a purpose-driven business, with an ongoing mission to help artists succeed and elevate everyone's life with art and we are proud to launch our partnership with a fantastic open call submission contest for Issue 5 of FAIRE

For our latest issue (No. 4) French photographer Elise Desmet Fisher was chosen as the winning entry to illustrate our Open Call for the ‘Stories of Salt & Starlight’ column.

In partnership with Faire Magazine, Artrepreneur is holding an open call to select a work of art to accompany Faire’s column “Stories of Salt and Starlight”, written by Ruth Steadman.

Every issue of FAIRE features Northern Irish storyteller Ruth Steadman’s column, 'Stories of Salt & Starlight’. Her column explores the power of working with our own stories to craft and transform our setbacks and trauma into something that regenerates and restores.

The winning entry of this open call will have their work published (a full-colour page) opposite Ruth’s column inside issue 5.

THEME: The Small Dance

In Issue Five, for her Stories of Salt and Starlight column, Ruth Steadman reflects on an afternoon in an East London dance studio and the lessons it offers in how we might come back together beyond the pandemic. Or, in the candlelit words of the great Pina Bausch: “dance, dance, otherwise, we are lost”.

The artwork should be an existing piece of work, and should not be too literal an interpretation of the theme, instead, we encourage you to capture the spirit of the theme.

Traditionally this space has been reserved for photography, however, for this open call we are opening the page up to all media that can be reprinted in 2-d. This includes Photography, Painting, Digital art, Illustration, and sculpture (in which case the quality and style of the photo would be just as important as the quality of sculpture).
