Makers Mixtapes

Slowdown sounds to mark both an end and a new beginning.

“Boy, I hurried... I hurried for a long time. I'm sorry I did. All the time you're hurrying, you're not really as aware as you should be. You're trying to make things happen instead of just letting it happen. You follow me?”

Bob Dylan

Music is my love language and often I’ll find songs that communicate much better what weighs on my heart more than stumbling over my words and thoughts….

Music accompanies me throughout the day as I work, in the car en route to photo shoots and work meetings, and this is the soundtrack to my last few weeks. Some songs have been gifted to me by friends - is there anything better than discovering a new song to love? or a melody that helps you remember a song you used to listen to on repeat… It’s all in here.

Hope you enjoy!

Editor in Chief, FAIRE

I want to make a hole in everything and penetrate it deep. I want to reach the heart of the earth. My love lies in there, a place where seedlings turn green and roots meet one another and creation continues even in disintegration. I think it has always been this way…in birth and then in death. I think my body is a temporary form. I want to reach its essence.
— Forough Farrokhzad

And in case you missed out on our two earlier FAIRE playlists - we created Out of Office in August.

I don’t know what I’m doing. And if you don’t know what to do, there’s actually a chance of doing something new. As long as you know what you’re doing, nothing much of interest is going to happen.
— Philip Glass

And in October we created and shared the Faire Fall playlist…..

Feeling, existing, living, I think it’s all the same, except for quality. Existing is survival; it does not mean necessarily feeling. You can say good morning, good evening. Feeling is something more: it’s feeling your existence.
