Patch NYC Holiday Gift Guide

Don Carney and John Ross

Patch NYC was founded in the late ‘90s by design duo Don Carney and John Ross who have been creating incredibly beautiful and eclectic homewares and fashion accessories inspired by their travels and flea market finds in Paris and New York. Today their work is available in stores across the globe and inside their own beautiful store in Boston (46 Waltham Street). In recent years they have collaborated with so many major design companies such as Monoprix, Target, West Elm, Fragonard, Galison, Astier de Villatte, Ciner and Miriam Haskell.

We are infinitely inspired by their creativity, from their design and creative work for their own company PATCH NYC but also their personal passions for painting, photography and antiquing which we follow avidly from afar on instagram.

They have the most exquisite taste and we are thrilled to share their personal gift wish list for the holidays which has many ideas that we’ve already added to our own wish lists.

“We are most fond of the fruit-themed surprise balls (plums, pomegranates, peaches) and we have these sculptural pieces all over the house.”

Potpourri by Santa Maria Novella

“We love the woodsy spicy deliciousness of potpourri by Santa Maria Novella. A really nice gift is to pair a bag of the potpourri with a great vintage piece like a shallow ceramic bowl.”

A journal by Antoinette Poisson of course!

“As you know everything this studio creates is exceptional. And they are two of the nicest people we have been fortunate to meet and befriend. Their beautiful journals are like decorative objects for a tabletop or desk.”

Fragrance

“Don and I always gift each other a bottle of our favorite colognes. For Don it is Vetiver by Guerlain and for me it is Terre d’Hermes.”

incense by Astier de Villatte

“I guess this list is heavy on fragrances and yummy smells but here’s one more: incense by Astier de Villatte makes a great gift. Their signature slim light blue box paired with one of our brass incense holders is a gift we enjoy giving.”

€50.00

Music

“We usually have music playing in our design studio and our musical tastes are all over the place. One contemporary artist we like is Gabriel Naim Amor a French musician who lives in Tucson, AZ. You can usually find his CD’s at Bon a wonderful shop owned by our friends Crystal and Bonnie (daughter and mother).”
